Streaming Itunes music via the net

Being a creative person working with graphics on a daily basic i listen to a lot of music.
But like many of you i can't fit my music collection on my iPhone.
I been searching for different solutions, i found a few that kind of worked, but not that good.

The only good one I could find was the "Streamtome" app. Like most apps that are great it cost a few dollars but this app is doing a great job delivering my music from my iMac at home to my iPhone.
The only downside is you have to keep your Mac turned on all the time when you want to listen to music. One cool feature is that this app also have a mac client, meaning not only can you stream to your iPhone but also to another Mac. Thats brilliant!

So how does this work..?
Do I need to be a geek to set it up correctly?

No you don't! All you need to do is to forward ONE port and you are good to go!

Here is the process step by step..

1) Download the free server app in the app store
2) Install the app
3) Start the app (looks like this..)

4) Select the port you want to use for streaming - be sure you forward the port in your router
5) Select if you want your playlists to be shared (and photo if you like!) add a folder to "shared folders"
6) Type in a password, you don't want this baby to be open
7) Go to the app store on your iPhone and purchase the iPhone app "Streamtome"
8) On your iPhone start the app and put in your Ip address or your DNS address and your password
9) You are good to go, you can now enjoy all of your music on the go
10) This also works for movies, but here i'll recommend AIRVIDEO, it's a bit better i think.

Enjoy all your music :)

Louder sound on a MACBOOK

I bought this (old) MACBOOK from a friend of mine. I though i was going to use it for listing to music and surfing the web. To my surprise the sound was so low that listing to music without headphones was not going to happen. So I looked for a free App that could boost the volume, in a simple way...
It was hard to find, and in the end i found a app that did the job perfect...But with a price tag.
I think the price was a little expensive for a audio boosting software but then again i can listen to music on my mac while I surf.. (Yeah i know about airplay. I also know the sound isn't perfect on plastic speakers but if it's all you got it's better then nothing..

The app is called BOOM and can be downloaded on the Mac app store - try a demo first on the website.

CAMBOX files to AIFF or WAV

I love the CAMBOX app for iPhone. I like it so much I want to extend the app into my music making.
But there is a problem, you can't get the sounds out of it, in a smart way.

I found a way... Takes a few clicks but it's worth it...

1) Go into CAMBOX and select "my kits"
2) Select the kit you want to save as audio
3) Click the blue arrow and select "share"
4) Send the email to your mac
5) Save the .CBK file to the desktop, rename the file type as .ZIP
6) Extract it
7) In the folder you will se a bunch of .MOV files.. Well they don't work in my music app. (Reason). Lets fix that.
8) Download the free App http://www.mediahuman.com (it's free)
9) In MHAC > preferences. Make the following changes:

10) All you have to do now is drop the .MOV files from the folder you extracted to the desktop into MHAC and the source files will be converted to AIFF (or what format you chosen in the prefrences)
This will also delete the .MOV files keeping things clean. (delete the rest of the files manualy if you want to.

11) Go nuts in Reason or another app :)
